Not Urdu with Punjabi nouns
This is the easy failure and the one worth naming. Swapping a few words into an Urdu sentence produces something a Punjabi speaker will recognise as not Punjabi. The grammar and the rhythm have to stay Punjabi throughout, whatever Urdu or English words a family normally mixes in.
Pakistani Punjabi, in Shahmukhi
Written in Shahmukhi, the Arabic-derived script used in Pakistan — never Gurmukhi and never Devanagari. It is also not Indian Punjabi content, which is most of what a model will have seen.
tusi or tu, and then she keeps it
Register and gender agreement follow the conversation consistently, rather than shifting halfway through.
Saraiki is its own language
Saraiki is not Punjabi and not Urdu. It has its own grammar and its own implosive sounds, written with their own letters. Warisha offers it as a separate language rather than folding it into Punjabi, because folding it in is the flattening this product exists to avoid — and the same goes for Sindhi and Balochi, each selectable in its own right.
Saraiki, Hindko and Pothwari are not Punjabi
They are their own languages and she does not absorb them into “Punjabi”. If what you are speaking is clearly another variety, she will say plainly that she is speaking Punjabi rather than quietly approximating.
Where it is thinnest
Punjabi, Saraiki, Sindhi and Balochi have the language and accent rules but no curated corpus yet — Pashto has one. Set the language explicitly, because she will not infer these the way she infers Pashto. Building corpora to match is on the roadmap.
AI in Punjabi, and what that means here
As a Punjabi chatbot she takes typed Shahmukhi and replies in it. As a Punjabi-speaking AI in live voice she says it aloud. AI in Punjabi usually means Indian Punjabi in Gurmukhi — a different script for a different country. This is Pakistani Punjabi, and the grammar stays Punjabi rather than becoming Urdu with Punjabi words dropped in.
