The document is split into passages and indexed by meaning rather than keyword, so asking “what does it say about the payment terms” finds the right passage even when those words are not in it. The answer comes back with the page and section it came from.

It stays private

Files go to private storage, reachable only through your own account. They are not shared between users and not used to answer anyone else's questions.

What it cannot do yet

Scanned PDFs and photographs of documents are not read — there is no OCR, so a scan of a page is an image to her, not text. Spreadsheets and slide decks are not supported yet either.
